...And that means the bare minimum when it comes to dinners.
Here it is for this week-
Sun--German pancakes and cut up strawberries-Kroger had them for 99c a quart.
Mon--homemade pizza
Tues--roasted chicken and potatoes
Wed--spaghetti
Th--chicken noodle soup and bread
F--left overs
Sat--chicken butternut squash soup--recipe I found in the current issue of Better Homes and Gardens It probably won't be a big hit with the kids, but I thought it sounded good.
Here's my dilemma, I need packed lunch ideas. The kids are about to rebel with the mundane lunches I pack. What do you do for lunch?

I must admit I may not be much help since Karissa gets access to the microwave (one bonus for Celiacs). Her lunch bag is insulated and I get her food in 3 to 3 1/2 hours before her lunch and we have not had any food poisoning issues. Anyway, here are some ideas:
--You can buy some thermoses that keep things warm, we love putting soup in them, but have also done other things. You can do leftover pasta, a casserole, Mac & cheese, etc.
--Karissa loves when I send Green salad and I have a small container that holds dressing.
--Black Bean salsa with chips (I like Heather Rolapp's recipe, however, I usually don't use fresh ingredients)
--Cold Pizza
If their lunch bag is insulated you can pack just about anything, especially if you have those freezable ice packs. Then you can do deviled eggs, meat sandwiches, meatloaf sandwiches, etc.
Often if we have lots of leftovers I freeze some in Karissa-sized proportions and then pull them out for her lunch and heat them up and put them in the thermos thing.
Good Luck!
What do I do for lunch? I write the school a check. But I would really like to start sending his lunch. I've learned convenience comes with a hefty price tag. It's about $33 a month.
My problems are:
1) his lunch would sit for over 5 hours and
2) he really really likes eating school lunch and
3) I make my own bread which makes for heftier sandwiches. Not too kid friendly and finally
4) I'm lazy.
I'm anxious to hearing suggestions as well. I with Miles could use a microwave like Karissa.
A few weeks ago I got an email about lunches. This website gives some ideas:

They are trying to sell you their cool lunchboxes but they have some good ideas too.
Here is another one. Not as easy to navigate but might have some more ideas to help.

WE pay for school lunch because it is not an option. Small school means that everyone has to pay whether you want to or not. It' a point of great aggravation for me. I don't want to pay $30 a month per child and then send a lunch too! Alas, I am not willing to do some protesting about the garbarge they are fed so I can't really complain can I?
Anyone else having problems with this site? It's not coming up for me. I wonder what is up.
